Definitions of the word 'art' can be given in dictionaries but these definitions are not the ones which go further on the process of creation and behind the reasons why art is interpreted in several ways. The way we perceive a work is individual but still there are reasons why shapes and surface and mass of things leave at us a pleasurable sensation. This sensation doesn't necessarily mean that what we perceived was beauty, not beauty as an establishment at least.
Almost everyone can perceive a work of art through their senses but not everyone can understand the real meaning ,or even feel something because of it. In different periods of time beauty may have had been idealized but it still has been an instinctive perception rather than an intellectual one. Beauty and art as two abstract concept and with no compulsory connection between them make it hard to find out if beauty is art or art is beauty.
The artist aims to express his ideals in plastic form and as a result of that ,strangeness in the proportion will be unavoidable. The real artist do not come with the idea to create something that will be accepted by everyone. The inspiration is the one that pushes them to express their inside word in a way that it is accessible for other humans but not meant to be understood by everyone. The work of art is not only attributed to the artist but also to the time and environment where this artist interacts.
Abstraction may in some way be presented in creativity, whose expression is actually the base of art .But in the other hand a formless or informal expression may not be art at all. There are people who have some really narrow thoughts about art but there are also others that pretend to know art and create things for which 'art' should not be the used term.
Art it's not an exclusive intellectual activity rather than an exclusive intuitive one. If art does not give a message or at least crate a type of emotion on people it is not a completed art work, it is just the presentation of it.
Art for me is everything beautiful that my eyes see and the soul feels. Beautiful as the way that the minor details interact with each other to create a whole completed 'view', beautiful as the little perceptions create a stronger message.
