perceptual bases for architectural design

Every building has a story to tell and the architect's job, besides writing this story, is to make it readable. The architect communicates through the building's components, by emphasizing the ones that carry the main philosophy and the overall symbols. Are especially this symbols the ones that made a building part of the collective memory in the past and still make it recognizable nowadays.

Along with the building of new buildings, some studies based on architecture made clear how and why an architectural object was called a good one compared to others.This studies are especially important for architects, to make the process of creating something new easier.The architect considers even the smallest details to fulfill the expected result. A number of design techniques are taken in consideration, the way that they go together as well, so that the final visualization communicates the reasons behind the choices made.

Every architect may aim to bring something new in the field, but a 'proper' visual image still have to be the result of the architect's thinking process. A single error during this process leads to total dysfunctions. To dismiss these type of issues a building program is followed.

Symbolism is used to create a building type, based on specific images left from the experience but the tradition also changes considering the site where the building is set. Because of this personal form generating techniques that the architect chooses, creates the personal style, which makes the building recognizable from the author.

In an architectural style that I choose to make my own I will represent the principals that I put in the base of my work and in some way criticize what what does't go for me.Speaking as a person who still isn't familiar with the concepts from which an architectural object is criticized, I see so called modern architecture as an attempt to go out off the ordinary but still not communicating a real feeling. I mostly appreciate that kind of architecture that presents in some way a country's identity and gives you a direct impression.

After all the decision that the architect has to make, a building must have a visual impact. Selections about the technology will be made but it should be taken in consideration the visual effect as well because something hidden from the user's perception it has less meaning.A gestalt is a tool through which the architect gives a message by grouping several parts and giving them a relation.

Beside the fact that architectural form express or convey even a certain emotion, the architect should base the ideas on some exact methods that make it easy the transmission of the image but also add functionality to the building.
